On the 28th of March, the Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan passed the Budget Ordinance.
Though the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) asked for 90,000 crore sanction, only 70,994.98 crores were sanctioned.
On the 26th of March, the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet approved a vote on account budget for the next three months.
This is the second time that the Andhra Pradesh Government issued an ordinance for vote on account budget. In 2020, due to the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 pandemic, the State Government opted for the vote on account budget.
This vote on account budget at an estimated outlay of 70,994.98 crores would be from April to June.
The decision to approve this ordinance was taken in the wake of th yet to be held budget session. Due to the Grama panchayat and Municipal elections, the Andhra Pradesh Government was unable to conduct the Assembly Budget session 2021-2022.
Meanwhile, the YSRCP Government is expected to present the full budget in April end or May first week.
However, an official announcement regarding the next budget session schedule is yet to be announced.
